Support The World - Charity set up by Chef Damian Wawrzyniak (£3500)
We help anyone, anywhere in the UK and around the world, get the support they need if crisis strikes. We provide aid to people suffering personal, national or international emergencies by bringing safety and stability to their lives and then returning them to fairness, dignity and future opportunity as quickly as possible. We support vulnerable individuals, displaced people and refugees with life basics such as safe emergency accommodation, clothing, food, water, personal hygiene, healthcare and more complex assistance such as relocation, asylum claims, housing, employment and education opportunities. We will work primarily from our base in the UK in partnership with governmental and non governmental organisations home and abroad.
Hope and Aid Direct (£960)
At the start of the conflict one of our trustees went immediately out to Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine to understand the situation on the ground. In addition this trip was to cement partnerships that not only allow us to get aid into the country but also ensure that we know what we need to send. Off of the back of this trip our first truck arrived Romania on the 12th March and delivered baby boxes and nappies, which will be taken by local NGO’s into Ukraine.
Museum Crisis Centre (£1000)
A group of museum directors had launched an initiative to send funds to cultural workers across the country. They included museum and library staff living in southern cities such as Kherson, now under Russian occupation. None had been paid, with the stipends from the European Commission and other donors used to buy food. organised by Olha Honchar
Stetsenko Foundation (£3500)
Based in in the Ukrainian border, provides help for the most vulnerable Ukrainians, orphanages, hospitals, animal shelters, displaced people and civilians who joined the Territorial Defence Forces to resist the Russian invasion.
